Director of Research, Development, and Communications
Sascha Hastings has worked as a national arts producer for CBC Radio, an architecture and design curator, and on several Canada Pavilion exhibitions at the Venice Architecture Biennale, including as RAIC Project Manager and Deputy Commissioner. She was Co-Curator and Co-Principal of The Evidence Room, which premiered at the central exhibition in the 2016 Venice Architecture Biennale, then showed at the ROM in Toronto, and will open at the Hirshhorn Museum in Washington, DC in spring 2019.
She has edited and co-written several books, including Logotopia: The Library in Architecture, Art and the Imagination (2008), The Evidence Room (2016), and Building a Northern Design Culture: The Creation of the McEwen School of Architecture (2017).
Hastings has a BA in Renaissance Studies and German Literature from the University of Toronto and an MA in German Literature from the University of Freiburg (Germany). In 2018, she completed a Masters Diploma in Business for Arts and Culture at IED (Istituto Europeo di Design) in Venice, Italy.
