LASG Studio

Kevan Cress directs the design and development of projects within the Living Architecture Systems Group. He has led projects including Constellation (Beijing, CN 2025), Aria (Delft, NL 2025), as well as the Living Shadows installations featured in Iris Van Herpen’s Sculpting the Senses tour. A graduate of the McEwen and Waterloo Schools of Architecture, Cress’ design approach is rooted in a practice that tries to blur the separation between the digital and physical, blending hand craft and digital fabrication techniques, often supported by bespoke Open-Source tool-making. Kevan has co-developed tools as part of the ‘Aether’ software suite, that integrate with design platforms like Blender, Rhino, Godot and Unreal Engine to design, simulate and visualize the spatialized behaviour of complex immersive environments. A passionate supporter of Open-Source projects, Kevan has contributed tools to the Open-Source 3D modeling tool Blender, which facilitates the creation of dimensioned and annotated technical drawings, supporting its use in Architectural and Fabrication contexts.
